IMPORTANT COMPANY GUIDELINES FOR PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

Our aim is to deliver fast, hassle free photography for a fixed price. We have tried to keep the process as simple as possible to ensure that their are no nasty surprises. EBAY PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES

GUIDELINES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS USING EBAY PICTURES SITE:
  • Photographs need to be your own original work. eBay Pictures does not accept any photographs you download from any website or that you received from another source.
  • You are required to read and accept our Terms & Condition before you upload your photos.
  • By submitting your photographs to eBay Pictures, you represent that you have the right to distribute them and that they comply with the eBay pictures Terms & Conditions. Photographs must meet the below guidelines:
    • Sharp image, not blurred.
    • The photograph should be of a front view or a slight angle view of the product, not a back view or a side view.
    • Background – White background.
    • Drop Shadow – images should not have a drop shadow (a drop shadow is a shadow of the image that is covering the image itself).
    • Images with boxes - Picture with boxes are allowed if the packages provide more information than the actual product. 
    • The image should not contain any copyright marks, watermarks or other digital signatures.
    • Body part: images that show body parts or faces shouldn’t be uploaded.
    • Product placement in the image - the product should take up most of the image's space and look clear to the user.
    • Multiple objects in the image - an image that displays more than one product shouldn't be uploaded. Unless the product is such that it requires multiple images for example Xbox with an extra remote
    • The minimum size of image should be at least 100X150 (or 150X100) pixels in JPEG. Maximum size of image to be 1000X1600 pixels on the longer side. However user can submit images exceeding the maximum size but in that case the images will get normalised to its maximum size.

GOOGLE GUIDELINES

GOOGLE SHOPPING IMAGE GUIDELINES:
  • Accurately display the product that you're selling
  • Use an accepted format: non-animated GIF (.gif), JPEG (.jpg/.jpeg), PNG (.png), BMP (.bmp) and TIFF (.tif/.tiff) 
  • For non-clothing products, use an image of at least 100 x 100 pixels
  • For clothing products, use an image of at least 250 x 250 pixels
  • Don't submit an image larger than 64 megapixels or a file larger than 16 MB
  • Don't scale up an image or submit a thumbnail
  • Don't include promotional text, watermarks or borders
  • Don't submit a placeholder or a generic image Exceptions:
  • In Hardware (663) or Vehicles & Parts (528) categories, illustrations are accepted
  • In any paint category, single colour images are allowed

AMAZON PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES

GUIDELINES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS USING AMAZON SELLER SITE:
  • Images must accurately represent the product and show only the product that's for sale, with minimal or no propping.
  • MAIN images must have a pure white background (pure white blends in with the Amazon search and item detail pages - RGB values of 255, 255, 255).
  • MAIN images must show the actual product (not a graphic or illustration), and must NOT show excluded accessories, props that may confuse the customer, text that is not part of the product, or logos/watermarks/inset images.
  • The product must fill 85% or more of the image.
  • Images should be 1000 pixels or larger in either height or width, as this will enable zoom function on the website (zoom has proven to enhance sales). The smallest your file should be is 500 pixels on the longest side.
  • Amazon accepts JPEG (.jpg), TIFF (.tif), or GIF (.gif) file formats. JPEG is preferred.
INTIMATE APPAREL AND SWIMWEAR
Images of intimate apparel, lingerie, and swimwear products may not be sexually explicit or obscene, as determined at the sole discretion of Amazon. In addition, images of such products must comply with the following rules:
  • Images of live models that use poses that could be interpreted as indecent, excessively erotic, or lewd are not permitted.
  • Images that display full nudity (breasts, genitalia, bare bottoms, and so on) are not permitted.
  • Images with live models wearing sheer products might be permitted, provided that genitalia and breasts/nipples are not exposed or presented in a lewd or provocative manner. No bars or other types of graphics are permitted to cover exposed body parts.
  • Thongs and panties must use front views for the main product image. Back views can be uploaded as alternate views.
  • Thongs and panties that do not provide full coverage in the front and back must have images that do not use a human model. Air-brushing is not permitted for exposed skin areas.
ADDITIONAL IMAGES
  • MAIN images should be supplemented with additional images showing different sides of a product, the product in use, or details that aren't visible in the MAIN image.
  • A white background is recommended, but not required. Additional images must not include logos or watermarks, and all props or accessories must be presented in a way that do not cause customer confusion.
